FIREMAN'S FESTIVAL
Chesterhill Volunteer Fire Department will be holding their "44rd" Annual Fireman's Festival on Saturday, July 12, 2008. Activities will begin with the Parade Line-up at 1:30 p.m. at the Chesterhill Church of Christ on State Route 377 South. Anyone wishing to be eligible for the "Trophy" judging must be at the church by the above mentioned time. Parade will begin at 2:30 p.m.

The Fire Department is seeking local organizations to take part this year with being in charge of various games throughout the evening. If interested, please contact: Julie Garber at 554-7850 or Sue Mayle at 554-7873.The Parade route will travel through Chesterhill to the former Marion Elementary School. The remainder of all activities will be held at the First National Bank parking lot on State Route 377.
Plaques will be awarded in the following categories: Oldest Fire Truck, Farthest Distance Traveled, Oldest Fire Truck in Service, Best Appearing Rescue Squad, Oldest Antique Car, Best Restored Antique Car, Best Commercial Float, Best Organizational Float, Best Horse: Age brackets of : 9 years and under, 10-15 years and 16 years and over; Bicycles: First Place; also First Place Ribbons for Best Appearing ATV and Best Appearing Motorcycle.
Games for all ages, Food Stands and Bingo will open following the parade. "Delicious Fire House Steaks" and McKitrick?s Ice Cream will be available along with other food items. Food will be prepared by the F.D. Auxiliary. All donations of pies and cakes would be greatly appreciated. Carry-Out of food items will be available.
For a great family night out bring your lawn chairs, enjoy an evening of good food, good music, visiting with friends and support a good cause.
Entertainment will begin at 4:00 p.m. with Darla?s Dancer?s; at 5:00 p.m., Gospel Singing with Irvin Mayle and at 6:00 p.m. The Off Season?s... Band and Singing Group..
Raffles for a "Uniflame" Three Burner Gas Grill donated by Cecil Mayle, Jr.; S.S.M. for AmeriGas; a Fireman?s Print Patch Handmade Quilt donated by Darlene and Cindy Parsons; and a Gas Grill donated by Genesis "Mark Rest Center" plus many other gifts will be held throughout the evening. A great selection of items are being donated from local business?s.
The Fire Department personnel are hoping everyone will attend and be a part of the activities and support this yearly Fund Raiser...We are looking forward to a great evening of family fun and entertainment.
All proceeds will go to the Fire Department..
